Fortius Pharmedica was one of the first companies in the world to produce an all-natural feed supplement that would boost the immune system of commercial animals, thereby providing a means for farmers to decrease costs and improve profits.

Fortius realized there was an opportunity to develop natural immune protection when the European Union passed legislation banning the use of both growth promoters and antibiotics. These chemicals were causing residues to show up in the tissues and milk of the animal, contaminating the food chain and accelerating the development of antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria.

This is a trend seen worldwide and similar practices will be developed in other countries as social demand for responsible animal production increases and people start to care enough about what they consume to start lobbying their respective governments. Therefore, there is still a very, very large opportunity in this area.

Fortius has licenced these formulas for manufacture with two European firms, one based in England and the other in Germany. These immune enhancing formulas are extremely effective with regard to lactating cows, beef cows, pigs and piglets, chickens and other fowl.

Fortius has also designed and licenced an Equine Joint Formula for the largest producer of Natural Equine Products in the world (a Belgium-based company).
